My Art Process
Every piece begins with a rough thumbnail sketch––or two, or two dozen! I enjoy using the iPad for sketching because it allows me to quickly try out different compositions and color palettes. Then I render everything in vectors using Adobe Illustrator. Vector art allows for limitless changes, which is perfect for the complex composition-heavy posters I like to create. Lastly, I switch over to Photoshop for some final textures and effects!
Backstory
I’m Robin, the artist behind Hero Anthem (formerly Rockin’ Robin). I create punchy retro-style posters inspired by vintage propaganda and mid-century comic books. My art brings out those nostalgic childhood memories of watching Saturday morning cartoons and playing video games with my brother. I especially love incorporating music (especially those catchy theme songs!) into my work.
